Sugar (in Dari: Shakar or Boreh) is an edible substance with the chemical formula C12-H22-O11, and we usually call all types of sweet substances sugar. Sugar contains glucose, fructose, and galactose found in many plants, fruits, and dairy products.

About 80% of the sugar produced in the world comes from sugarcane, and the rest will come from sugar beet.  Half of the world’s sugar is produced by Brazil alone.
