Kinds of pepper

Hot pepper (scientific name: Capsicum annuum) is a fruit of a plant from the Capsicum genus, a member of the eggplant family. Red pepper originated from America. After Christopher Columbus discovered the United States and extensive intercontinental exchange, the Columbian exchange bred a variety of hot peppers for food and medicine purposes around the globe. Red pepper and Habanero pepper are some of these kinds of pepper.
